Drink Some Water® began as the seed of a book. Our Founder, Denitra Griffin, built an eight-figure business with her husband, raised four children, taught in various settings, and led in every room she entered. She aimed to capture the strategies that shaped her journey. However, when she sought guidance, she discovered a gap in resources available to her. As an African American woman entrepreneur, she found that there were few books by women who shared her background, offering leadership lessons from a similar perspective. Too often, she had to learn from voices that didn’t reflect her reality, which motivated her to change that narrative. Rather than wait for her book, Denitra launched a company to share those lessons with the world in real time. Thus, Drink Some Water® was born—rooted in her experience as an HR professional, her expertise as an educator, and her journey as a founder. Today, we provide leadership development, workforce readiness, and business consulting that strengthen leaders, prepare teams, and sustain growth. Every engagement creates measurable economic value and builds capacity for the future. This endeavor transcends mere business; it is a commitment to fostering a world where more leaders, diverse voices, and impactful stories are seen and heard.
Thank you for taking the time to explore Drink Some Water®. This company was born from both experience and conviction. I understood something essential: growth is not just about success—it’s about transferring knowledge, preparing others, and leaving a legacy.

I believe there is no ego in leadership. All work is honorable when it strengthens people, elevates communities, and ensures continuity for the next generation. That is the heart of our mission, and I am honored to share it with you here.
With over 25 years of professional experience coaching, mentoring, and developing teams, I am passionate about guiding organizations—whether non-profit, private, or government—to achieve greater efficiency, elevate staff satisfaction, and improve work outputs.
Our Founder grew up benefitting from the investment and support of community partners. Since 2012, she established the Always Giving Back Foundation, which has positively impacted over 150 youth aged 16-24 through workforce development, scholarship programs, financial literacy initiatives, and opportunities for them to become emerging philanthropists.
Your support helps us expand opportunities, develop leaders, and strengthen communities. Together, we create a future where every voice has a place.
